When I first started working with Jonathan, I was in the midst of a significant career transition. I attended a six week career bootcamp at JVS, and we were fortunate enough to have Jonathan Davis moderate the class for the duration of our training. He was a well organized and structured moderator, coming well prepared for each session and able to lead a diverse group of people. The best quality was his ability to lead, motivate and inspire. In May 2018, I completed a career workshop run by JVS. Our facilitator and instructor, Jonathan Davis, was extraordinary. It was attended by individuals from across the board – people with wide-spanning skill levels, backgrounds, and beliefs. Jonathan was adept at commanding students’ attention during lecture, and was responsive and helpful giving individual instruction when necessary. He allowed the more advanced students to work on modules they weren’t as familiar with, while he worked with students who required some additional attention. His attitude to us all was “You’ve got this.”
His belief became our belief. It was obvious to us that he knows his subjects. Jonathan is a rare combination of knowledge and teaching skill. His gift is to get the knowledge that is stored in his head into a student’s head using a combination of lecture and unique exercises. We responded to the joy he displayed when we absorbed some challenging material.
Jonathan is very friendly and approachable, yet knows when to get students to buckle down so that all of the material will be covered and the course stays on schedule.
I hope that I’ll have the opportunity to be a student of Jonathan’s in the future. I’ve never learned so much in such a brief time, while also thoroughly enjoying the classroom experience. The majority of us felt that way.
